{"id":314,"date":"2017-12-03T13:53:53","date_gmt":"2017-12-03T17:53:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/avarc.ca\/?p=314"},"modified":"2017-12-03T13:53:53","modified_gmt":"2017-12-03T17:53:53","slug":"avarc-field-day-results-summer-and-winter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/avarc.ca\/index.php\/avarc-field-day-results-summer-and-winter\/","title":{"rendered":"AVARC Field Day results &#8211; Summer and Winter"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<div>Once again, members of\u00a0AVARC have demonstrated that they are ready and able to assist emergency officials in time of disaster &#8211; summer AND winter!<\/div>\n<p>First, the June Field Day.\u00a0 AVARC\u00a0set up two stations, complete with towers and triband yagis,\u00a0in the sports field adjacent to the Annapolis West Education Centre in Annapolis Royal.\u00a0\u00a0We had a score of 2520, which was good for second place in the 2A category in the Maritime Section, behind the Kings County Amateur Radio Club.\u00a0 We were number 9 of 31 entries in all of Canada in the 2A category.<\/p>\n<p>In the <span class=\"gmail-text_exposed_show\">Winter Field Day last January we operated in the 1H category.\u00a0 Once again, we did very well.\u00a0 Our score of 20,876 was good enough for the top station in any category in Canada, and top station in the 1H category in North America. Overall, we were #4 in North America in the &#8220;Home&#8221; category.\u00a0 It&#8217;s worth mentioning that the 3 stations that were ahead of us used 3, 4 and 6 transmitters respectively to earn higher scores than we did.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"gmail-text_exposed_show\">\n<p>So &#8211; excellent results!\u00a0 Thanks very much to all those who took part or assisted!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Once again, members of\u00a0AVARC have demonstrated that they are ready and able to assist emergency officials in time of disaster &#8211; summer AND winter!
