  1. Hello,
I am interested in the Basic Coarse for Winter 2025. I clicked the link and it doesn’t go to anything. I searched the whole site for the Coarse or any Coarse and nothing.
    Please help me with this,
    Gerard

  2. Hi Gerard. The Winter 2025 Course finished in April, so that’s why the links don’t work. We are about halfway through the latest course, and registration for it has ended. Don’t worry however – the next course will start in February 2026, with registration opening in late December or early January. If you keep an eye on this website, or that of Radio Amateurs of/du Canada (https://www.rac.ca/), then you will see the announcement when registration opens.
Hope to see you in February!

  3. Thanks for the reply! Yeah I saw the date after I had posted the question…lol
Great! I will be signing up then.
Is this all on Zoom then?
Do you have an open house for newbies?

  4. The course is conducted completely on Zoom – even the exam can be conducted online if you would like.

The Annapolis Valley Amateur Radio Club (AVARC) is a virtual club – we don’t have regular meetings, a constitution, bylaws etc. We promote Amateur Radio through this webpage, and through our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/avradioclub/

If you are on Facebook then you are most welcome to join us there. A few of us sometimes (but not always) gather for coffee at the Greenwood McDonald’s at 3:00 PM on Fridays. You are most welcome to drop by if you are in the area.

You might also be interested in the Kings County Amateur Radio Club (KCARC). It is a more conventional club, and meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Valley Search and Rescue building, 117 Middle Dyke Road in Kentville. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, 4 November. https://kcarc.ca/
